AFAIK there are 2 most visited Indonesian websites, both of them are online forums (each is visited thousands daily). You need to register first before joining them. They are kaskus.us and forum.detik.com. Try finding a subforum title like "home & property" or anything to do with "buying/selling" then put your ad there. Good luck.
stow away, because there aren't any particularly cheap carriers that run from Canada to Bali, and fares have only gone up. If you can find a cheap flight to Kuala Lumpur, then you can easily find a cheap flight down to Denpasar, but good luck getting to Malaysia cheaply either.

I can understand how you might feel awkward about it, but at the same time, it's not your fault that Tony isn't paying for the other family's room. As you said, your family has been saving for this vacation to be a nice one, and I don't think you should diminish that for yourselves due to the circumstances. I don't mean this in a bad way, but the other family made a choice to put the money into their house. Honestly, I would stay in the villa. Tony IS offering them a discount with a possible upgrade. Where I come from, a 75% discount on a room is a great deal! If you don't have to take all your meals together with the other family, perhaps you can invite them to have a really wonderful meal with your family and pay their way for that.
Whatever you decide, I hope you have a really wonderful vacation. It's really nice for you to consider the other family's feelings, but don't sacrifice such a wonderful opportunity… treating your friend's family a little should suffice, IMO.

What kind of villa are you looking for? They have wide price range. There are family villas to luxury ones. Villa Lumbung in Seminyak is like in the middle range and charged me $2,500 for a month (that's cheaper than hotel, and more spacious) but they have regular pricing $1,000/week– more expensive for shorter terms.
If you travel in group, 4 br villas are definitely the best way to go, unless you want to stay in not so good motels. Say, for a villa will cost you USD2,000/week that's only $250 per person a week!

I have not stayed in any of the villas above but they all look to be of a similar quality.
I usually stay in Villa Seminyak Estate and Spa they have some brand new honeymoon suites which are really nice, although all villas are of good quality. I have always found the staff to be helpful and friendly but that's to be expected anyway.

If it's value for money you are looking for there are lots of cheaper options but nothing beats a nice quiet private villa with pool if you are looking to relax.
